Zaira was born and raised in the Coachella Valley, where her passion for service first took root. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara and a Master’s in Public Administration from California Baptist University. After completing her studies, she returned home to work in the nonprofit sector and continue leading the Young Women Empowerment Club, which she founded in 2017 at Coachella Valley High School to help young women develop leadership skills and advocate for social change. As a dedicated community advocate, Zaira is committed to advancing equity, strengthening civic engagement, and uplifting underrepresented voices.
