Joy Silver is Vice President for Democratic Women of the Desert, an Alternate Representative for CA 42nd AD, now AD 41 for the Riverside County Democratic Party and a member of the California Democratic Environmental Caucus, the Women’s Caucus, the Seniors Caucus and the Native American Caucus. She is a member of multiple Riverside County Democratic Clubs, and nationally, of the Women’s National Democratic Club (WND) D.C.
With 45+ years in senior and affordable housing development, reproductive healthcare & mental health & senior care services, she presently serves as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for an affordable housing non-profit, Community Housing Opportunities Corporation (CHOC).
Joy’s volunteer work includes the Courageous Resistance/Indivisible, “Lift To Rise”, Coachella Valley’s response to housing and homelessness, Women’s Club of Indio, Advisory Board for Culturas Music & Arts, Coachella, and formerly the Vice President, Palm Springs Women’s Jazz and Blues Association. She is a peer reviewer for American Society on Aging and was a volunteer with for United Way’s “Raising A Reader” and Martha’s Village “Reading To Pre-K Children”. She also hosts Radio111’s show OutSpoken.
