MEET ANYSE SMITH
Anyse Smith, a longtime Palm Desert resident, is an educator, public interest attorney and community advocate with a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from George Washington University and a Master’s in International Law from the Paris Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi.
Anyse is an active part of the recovery community in the desert and enjoys mentoring adults who are unhoused and justice-involved, as she once was. This includes her time as the Housing Program Manager at the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission and as the Regional Homelessness Provider at CVAG where she managed a program that provided services such as outreach, temporary shelter, and housing throughout the Coachella Valley.
Beyond her professional and community commitments, Anyse is an active member of her church where she sings in the choir and cherishes her role as a pet parent to a rescue cat named Monroe. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and indulges her love of tennis at Civic Center Park.
Anyse’s multifaceted background, community leadership, and commitment to positive change make her a driving force for Palm Desert’s promising future.
